Privacy Overview

Updated October 18, 2026

This Privacy Overview describes how The Recipe Realm ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information through https://thereciperealm.com (the "Site"), and explains the choices and rights you have, including those granted by US state privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

When you email us

We receive your email address, any name you share, and the contents of your message.

When you request a dinner passport

The dinner passport form asks for your first name and email address (required) and an optional phone number. It also records the cuisines you select, who you cook for, dietary needs, heat tolerance, how adventurous you'd like the plan to be, any notes you add (such as allergies, dislikes or kitchen details), the date and time of the request, and your confirmation that you're 18 or older and consent to our use of this information.

We use this information only to prepare and email your plan and respond to follow-up questions. We don't use it for marketing, put you on a mailing list, sell it, or share it for targeted advertising. Each request is emailed to our team, and a copy is held in a server directory that is closed to the public. If your notes include allergy or health information, that's your choice, and we use it only to tailor your plan.

Collected automatically

Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and times — to keep the Site secure and running. If we enable analytics or advertising, those services may collect device identifiers, browsing activity on the Site and approximate location through cookies and similar technologies.

Swap finder

The ingredient swap finder runs entirely in your browser. We don't receive what you search for.

2. How we use information

3. Google advertising and analytics

Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Ads may run on the Site.

Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and see our Cookie Details.

4. Disclosure of information

We disclose personal information to vendors that help operate the Site, such as our host and email provider, who are obligated to protect it. If analytics or advertising are enabled, cookie data is disclosed to those providers. We may also disclose information when legally required or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws may nevertheless classify advertising cookies as a "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time — see section 6.

5. How long we keep information

Dinner passport requests and emails are deleted within 12 months, or sooner on request, unless we're legally required to keep them. Server logs follow our host's schedule, and analytics and advertising data follow each provider's retention settings.

6. Your privacy rights in the US

If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others — you may have the right to:

To submit a request, email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject and describe what you'd like us to do. We'll verify your identity by confirming the request from the email address associated with your information. Authorized agents may act on your behalf where state law permits. If we decline your request, reply with "Appeal" in the subject line and we'll respond within the time the law requires.

To opt out, visit Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out.

California "Shine the Light": we don't share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

7. Children

The Site is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Dinner passport requests are open only to people 18 and older. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

The Site uses HTTPS, and passport requests are stored in a directory closed to the public. No system is fully secure, but we use reasonable protections.

9. Do Not Track

We don't respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because no common standard exists; we do honor Global Privacy Control as explained above.

10. Updates to this overview

We may update this Privacy Overview. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll post a notice on the Site for significant updates.

11. Contact

Email [email protected] with privacy questions.
